Incredible writing, Smooth and loving feel from this book.. I felt the caring as each chapter progressed, And it was as if I was in the story watching it unfold. Great information. I am learning alot from this book as I read it. Learning about my family heritage just now. This has opened up the indians woman place as a mother, healer, helper, and all other aspects.. I am not done reading the book yet. So still at it. Cannot go wrong with this book.

The author clearly describes Native American culture, spirituality and traditions in an easy-to-read style. The book could be improved by adding a list of terms and subjects discussed for easy reference by readers. This is a great overview that introduces the reader to Naive American beliefs.

I have been eyeing this book for a long time. Finally got it. I love it. Loaded with valuable life lessons in a very interesting story telling way. EasY to keep reading. Highly recommend.

Great book - good pictures.

Very nice plates and format, great information. A wonderful addition to my library.

This is an excellent, authoritative book on maples; however, the layout is disappointing. All the color plates are lumped into two sections, rather than placed adjacent to relevant text. The result is very unsatisfying.

I'm a garden writer myself (author of Allergy-Free Gardening) and I do extensive research on trees. I like to own all the finest, most in-depth books there are on as many genera of trees and shrubs as possible, since I make my living by researching which landscape plants cause allergies. Maples of the World isn't perfect and left me in question on a few things, but really, I have quite a few books on the genus Acer and this one is head and shoulders above all the rest. It has a very deep, terribly well-researched section on all the different cultivars of maples. It is well-written, well thought out, and the writers are bona fide maple experts. If you love maples (and what serious gardener doesn't?) consider buying this book. It isn't [inexpensive], but then it is a very large book, with tons of illustrations in color and many excellent drawings. Treat yourself to this valuable addition to your own personal horticultural library.

This is an excellent reference on maples, but be advised that the paperback edition has no color plates, even though it says it does in the Contents. Don't be misled by the cover. Only the original hardbound edition has color plates. Priced as it is, it is very expensive for a book whose illustrations are minimally useful to the average gardener. Black and white photos in small sizes convey very little information.

This one seems to be directed at adults or teenagers, and rightfully so, but many are packed with information and fun for kids. One of three beautiful books along this line given as a gift. Incredible illustrations! Highly recommend any Eyewitness books, if and when you can locate them.

More a pictures and facts book than a research or history book, but then, I'm sure it's intended for a casual younger audience. For it's part, it's a nice visual representation of certain items. I'm using it largely as an idea reference for weapon and armor design, and for that, it's quicker than Google.

These books from Eyewitness collection are Ok for a first and general idea about the subject for teenagers.

It has a lot of information, but it wasn't as detailed as I thought and it wasn't as helpful as I was hoping.
