I've been using Microsoft Word for many years, but thought there might be a few tips I could pick up from this reference guide. However, that is not the case. I'll be passing it on to a friend who is more advanced than I. It's not really fair to downgrade the product because I can't use it, but I'd also like to save someone from making the same mistake.This reference guide covers Using Styles, Restricting Formatting, Creating a Table of Contents, Creating an Index, Inserting Excel Spread Sheets, Outlining, etc.I like the concept, and I'm sure my friend will be happy with it.

I wanted something that would be a quick and easy to use Excel 2010. I didn't want to have to thumb through a manual looking for what I wanted to know. This chart may not tell you everything, but it will tell you enough without using Power Point's help menu or a manual.

I finally moved from Windows XP to Windows 7 and Office 10, but with great trepidation. Much in the interface for Excel has changed; it seemed confusing and a step backwards. However, The Quick Reference Guide has been a huge help in my transition.

There's a lot of info packed onto a tiny sheet here. I learned a few new things and, I think once I get used to looking at it for information when I need it, it may be useful. I think these references are great for beginning users of a program, but I assume once I know it pretty well, these shortcuts, etc., will become second nature, and I won't need the reference so much. I use OneNote pretty often, in work and at home, and would really like to get better and better at it, so I'm finding this to be quite helpful!

Let's face it, Outlook is a complicated program with so many different facets that it's hard to learn, and even harder to remember. This quick reference guide was purchased for my wife who uses E-mail, Contacts, and the Calendar in a personal way (not for business). It is helpful as a crib sheet, and saves the time it would take to find the answer using MS's help system. I find myself referring to it occasionally even though I've been using Outlook since Microsoft brought it to market. Try it - You'll like it. The price is certainly right!

easy to use, not much fluff at all. The infromation is presented clear and concise and the best thing is that you can place it on your office desk and it will withstand coffee spills, stains and the occasional danish pastry crumb. Once you clean it off, it will look like you respect your office enough not to spill coffee and danish all over your materials. And all the while, you will have a great reference for when you forget how to properly set up that VLOOKUP function.

I got this "cheat sheet" for the 2010 version of Microsoft's OneNote program for my wife as a quick reference. It does include a number of the most basic features of the program, but I was not impressed overall. Quite of few of the features are not included on the sheet, and so it does not do the job of providing a quick reference to all of the capabilities of OneNote. The sheet itself is of nice quality; firm plastic laminate and quite legible. The OneNote program is a great tool for organizing a variety of subjects and both my wife and I both really enjoyed using the 2007 version of MS OneNote. The 2010 version is a substantial upgrade in capability as well as some changes in format, so I was hoping that a good quick reference guide would help ease my wife into the new version. Alas, the Intro Quick Reference Guide being reviewed is just too basic to be of much value.

I use these laminated sheets more as a quick reference guide than as a way to learn Excel. Nevertheless, I did learn a few new thing from it. There are two sheets with four sides of Excel information provided

As hard as it is to believe, I was just diagnosed with Huntington's a few weeks ago. July 23rd, 2015. I went to the HDSA website to figure out the full ramifications of what that meant. They had an article about Lisa's novel. I immediately ordered it and it is an accurate description of my life. I'm 63 and had been showing some signs of chorea and some memory problems for about 4 years. 2 years ago I was diagnosed by my PCP and neurologist after getting an MRI in Florida as having "a chorea" but definitely not Parkinson's. They were both baffled and never mentioned HD. I moved to California last year and my new neurologist eventually said I might have Huntington's and I got a DNA blood test. (41 CAG repeats in HD language.) I knew nothing about "prodone" until I read Lisa's book. It explained a lot about my entire adult life and gave me an invaluable new perspective on my mother's "mental illness's." I'm actually relieved with this diagnosis because I finally have answers as to why I'm like I am. I have found a great local support group and am also getting on a list for any future clinical trials. I live by myself with my dog. I can still take care of myself and am able to drive. I figure I have at least 5 to 10 years minimum and totally optimistic that there will be drugs developed in my lifetime that will slow or halt the progression of this awful disease. And maybe even a cure. I am so grateful to Lisa Genova for writing this book and the serendipitous way it appeared the week I needed it most.

I liked the story behind the O'Brien family which is about how this family is affected by Huntington's Disease which is just a cruel and heartless disease. You just feel so sorry for them all and what their lives are becoming and will become because of this disease. They are a close knit, loving family which I really liked and the author wrote of them very lovingly. The author certainly did her research in explaining the symptoms of this disease. Although I did not like the ending and felt there was more to the story that could have been written I would still recommend this book. I love the writing style of this author Lisa Genova and have read some of her others books such as Still Alice, which I highly recommend. I do plan on reading more books from this author.

Compassion for humankind is what Genova seeks ,and this book offers the setting in which to practice it. The O'Briens, the entire family, are individually introduced to Huntington's Disease. First, one of Boston's Finest, develops its strange symptoms and discovers cholera and other behaviors are to worsen until his early death. That news is not the worst. He learns the disease is genetic and his grown kids have a 50/50 chance of developing the same gene. He feels responsible.Would you want to take a test to tell you your future? Each of the four offspring struggles and decides.One can feel nothing but compassion for this Irish Catholic family who have worked hard and have a dreadful future. This disease, like many others, is truly unfair. I particularly became attached to Joe during the story, and literally held my breath while watching the disease take over, but not destroy, his life.Genova again has written a thoroughly excellent book . It will stay with me. The disease, though, must expunged!

I worked with a Huntington's patient in a hospital setting while I was still a practicing registered nurse--it was a soul crushing experience.The entire time I was reading this novel, all I could think about was that poor woman, in the final stages of her disease, trying to stand so we could get her into her wheelchair. Chorea looks alien. Joints aren't supposed to move the way hers were moving. She was trying so hard to talk to her daughter, but her mouth was incapable of making any words...only grunts. That woman had a profound effect on my entire nursing career. I know she's likely no longer living, but I still find myself wondering if she is alive, how is she doing? Were her children HD gene positive? Did that awful gene die with her?This novel was like that nursing experience...I have no doubt it will have a profound effect on me for years to come.It wasn't Ms. Genova's finest work...that honor goes to Still Alice, but it was an excellent, character-driven novel. If you go into this book expecting an action-packed drama, you're going to be unhappy. This book deals more with the internal dialogue of each family member, particularly Joe and Katie, as they deal with Joe's diagnosis and what it means for each of them and their family.At it's heart, this book is about choices. I was truly a bit surprised by how little Huntington's disease, and it's affects on the body, was actually discussed. Having just finished Every Note Played, also by Lisa Genova, where the reader gets down and dirty with ALS, I was expecting, well, more.Not going to lie...although I understand why the author concluded the book like she did, I was disappointed. Nevertheless, if you have enjoyed other Genova novels, you'll enjoy Inside the O'Briens as well.3.5 stars

My husband passed away 2 1/2 years ago at the age of 49 from HD. Our daughters were elementary age when we were given the results over the phone (not the way it should be done). My husband's family had no idea HD was in their family genetics. I truly appreciate that an author researched and wrote what each family member experiences. Our daughters lost their father at the ages of 16 and 18. Both girls talk about getting tested. I pray much like Joe each day in hope that they both have negative results.

This causes a whole new level of frustration for Izumi, and he starts seeing how much he really loves and misses Ryoma now that he doesn't remember him and isn't paying him any attention.It's interesting to see how Izumi attempts stepping up and seducing Ryoma, in ways reminiscent of how Ryoma did in the beginning. And Izumi really has no pride, or rather, no shame, as he has no problem coming onto Ryoma and confessing his love and relying on Ryoma even when he has no reason to accept it.The volume ends with a sexy scene, the two of them trapped in a room together.This is a fun series to read. By no means is it perfect, as some of the methods used are iffy and even Izumi can be annoying. Typical manga: Assertive man and submissive man. Love and struggle from partners.Good parts: Super cute, plot is good and interesting, main characters compliment each other, and one is attractive.Bad part: The submissive guy is TOO feminine. They wrote his parts as if he was a girl 87% (made this number up) of the time and he's drawn VERY girly. It's kind of part of the plot, but still. Good yaoi manga.

I am enjoying this series , and i hope it continues. My wife also loves this series too , so we can read it together.

He knows that the education he's receiving at a private school will grant him more economic opportunities, however he begins to question the effects his private school education on his own identity. Some of his classmates believe that the racial pendulum has swung too far, giving African Americans an unfair advantage over their white counterparts. The kids he grew up with believe Justyce has assimilated too much and has forgotten where he came from. He questions his blackness, his relationship with his biracial girlfriend, and his attraction to his white debate partner Sarah Jane. Through a series of journal entries, Justyce attempts to figure out his place in the world by exploring the life of Dr. Martin Luther King. A violent altercation between a retired white police officer and his best friend causes Justyce to examine what it means to be an African American male in 2017. The length and pace of this well-written story make it a perfect read for reluctant and sophisticated readers alike. The main characters are well balanced and will resonate with teens. However, the voice of African American women is largely absent from the narrative. The characterization of Justyce's mother and his girlfriend are one-dimensional compared to some of the other protagonists. Still, this important work should be read alongside Jason Reynolds's and Brendan Kiely's All-American Boys and Kekla Magoon's How It Went Down. I was a very quiet kid, someone who watched and listened, tried to understand why people were the way they were, made the choices they did—good and bad. To this day, when I happen to see a photo of someone who stood up so faithfully for what they believed in, clinging to the hope that things could improve if they just kept chipping away with their voice and actions, I reflexively place my hand on their image as if it could somehow connect me to them. As if it could somehow tug me closer to understanding how they persevered. As if it could somehow allow them to give me advice on what was stirring in my heart as I watched and listened to the world around me.In this novel, Justyce McAllister—a bright, motivated, top-of-his class student—takes it one step further. As he navigates a contemporary Atlanta where he is still seen more for the color of his skin than the content of his character, he regularly writes to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in a journal, hoping that it will help him put Dr. King’s teachings into practice in order to manage everything that’s thrown at him.I don’t want to give away the exact situations he faces, but I will say this: there is a safety in fiction that allows us to witness and begin to understand the harder stories and truths we flinch from in real life. Books like this get important views considered, get important conversations started. As a white person, I needed to get to know Justyce, for I’ve never been in his shoes, and the fact is that his fictional shoes are worn by millions today. As a mother to white children, I needed to own this book in order to place it into my kids’ hands and ensure the messages inside it are nailed home. Over and over again, until things do get better.I highly recommend this book, and hope it gets into as many hands and hearts as possible.

A lot of discussion points in a small package.Dear Martin follows Justyce who is a black teen boy who goes on a journey of discovering the hardships of being a black male.I must say I am impressed with the many topics this book covers from racial profiling, affirmative action, going along with racist jokes and more. Dear Martin would be a perfect book for a high school class because of the topics it discusses, the engaging story and the short length.Personally, just like The Hate U Give, Dear Martin was hard to read. My children are black and it’s frustrating & heartbreaking to know the issues presented in the book is reality for many black men and for my sons as they get older. The idea that they’ll deal with racism solely because of their skin color guts me and the possibility of someone harming them because of it, I can’t even think about it.Thank you Nic Stone for writing a piece of literature that I hope helps many people see problems of today and revisit how they think.Issues: My main issues with the book were structural. 1. It was short, just over 200 pages. I heard it originally was longer but cut shorter to make it more impactful. I wish there had been a little more development here. 2. The structure and formatting of the book threw me a little. The majority of the book is written in a regular formatting but then randomly dialogue is formatted in a bullet point style. I thought it was a mistake at first. It was interesting but I’m not sure I was sold on it. I did also like the letters written to Dr. King.Overall: This was an important read. Please read it

Okay, so I'm going to get this out of the way first. If you've read DEAR MARTIN, read THE HATE YOU GIVE. If you've read THE HATE YOU GIVE, read DEAR MARTIN. If you recommend THE HATE YOU GIVE, recommend DEAR MARTIN too. These books talk to each other. I'm not going to compare them because that's not what this review is about--I'll leave that to someone else.DEAR MARTIN is a lightning fast read--and it's structurally neat with like almost play-like dialogue exchanges--and it's telling a heartbreaking and important and hard-to-look-away-from story. I love Jus. He's a wonderful character. His mom is so real, and his teacher Doc is awesome. And his friends are people I want to know. No spoilers, but this to say, I wasn't expecting the plot of this book to go the way it did: that is, the novel itself wasn't predictable.Although, yeah, of course, I was expecting it too go where it did--since this book is exactly what's happening in the US right now.All in all, an amazing read that everyone, and I mean everyone should read. But also, the story and characters are so real that there's pleasure in reading this book too.I cannot wait for Nic Stone's next book.
