This has been a life-changing book for my husband and me. He read this book to me when I was suffering from anxiety and depression. Morning after morning, I would lie on the couch while he read. I found it calming, and it helped me focus on something other than my anxiety and depression. At first, I was unable to discuss it with him, but gradually, with time, counseling and medication, I got better, and we began having wonderful discussions about each day's reading and how it applied to our lives. At some point, we began taking turns reading. We took this book on trips with us, and would read it in our car or hotel room. If we missed a day, we missed it. When we finished, we tried several different inspirational books, but so far, nothing has compared. I've just ordered DailyOM: Learning to Live, and look forward to reading it. I'm feeling much better these days, and my counselor tells me whatever I've been doing, keep doing it! At some point, we will re-read DailyOM: Inspirational Thoughts for a Happy, Healthy, and Fulfilling Day. It's that good, and will be a permanent part of our library as a "go to" book when we need gentle guidance with a positive perspective. I can't recommend it highly enough. Brava!

Made well and I like the extra pockets. Plenty of room for pens , highliters and mints.

Looks just like and has the same features as the cover you can buy at life way or other book stores. But this one is total crap. Very cheap made. Zipper is very light weight and material feels like plastic.

The pockets are great! The padding is good! The only thing I'd be concern about is the black strap which does seem to have come from a backpack strap but had been loosely sown to the cover. Despite this, the cover is the most useful item to have for a cover since I can put my pens, sticky notes, & even folded up 9.5"x11" paper notes in all the pockets. I would buy it again even knowing what I've known. You should to. Enjoy!

A bit disappointed. The original bible cover I had from 15 yrs ago looked just like this but was much sturdier/better made. This is flimsy. The handle shown is not the same as what I received. This is a photo of the original, not the one available now. It's useable though.

An area of history I was not familiar with. This group became the successor to an earlier empire in the area. This empire lasted some 400 years, starting out with nomads and working it's way to regular settlements. There are few written records, making it hard to determine details about what they were like.They did have trade connections running all the way to China. As virtually every other empire they went through their own wars of expansion and gradual defeat. The started out working with Greek culture but moved onto Persian culture. They did grant religious liberties and were more a loose confederation than a fully unified empire.There is also a bibliography.

This is what I love about the Captivating History Series. They take lesser known people & cultures & give them their due placebo history.I knew nothing about this empire . They existed for several centuries. Good at warfare especially with their horse archers Archaeological findings still continuing will shed mor light on this civilization which will give it its rightful place in World History.If you are like me & want to learn something on historical subject then read this book.As always another superb book by Captivating History.
