I own over 15 books about autism and this ranks as #1. Jen, Barb, and the others have done an amazing job of representing female autistics. We needed our stories heard, and here they are! We are females and we are autistic. And we are proud of it! I am proud to have found my tribe. I recommend this especially to professionals who feel settled in their knowledge of what autism is.... this just might expand your insight. :)

I bought this for myself and my teen daughter. I wish I had read the chapter headings first: 1. Find Your Tribe, 3. Identity;A Beautiful Work in Progress, 4. Diversity, Gender, Intersectionality, and Feminism. These are at the beginning of the book. Three of twenty chapters, but their placement at the front of the book makes me suspect of the rest. Through the use of Leftist Terminology at the very beginning of the book, the authors have made clear that Leftist Ideology is of primary importance to these authors. NONE of these issues has anything to do with women and autism except as it applies to certain individual women who by such believes. I will not give this to my daughter. I will not read it. I will be returning it if I can and putting it in recycling if I can't

Having followed most of the authors on social media, I was still awed and amazed at the depth of knowledge these women shared. From personal safety to self care to mental health, and so much more, it is a guide for any woman affected by autism, and a great resource for professionals, friends and family, and anyone who wants to develop a deeper understanding of autism as it presents in women. As a spectrum woman myself it was hard to put down once I started. They are able to explain me in ways I've never been able to communicate on my own. Paris has been my favourite city ever since my first visit there so it would be unlikely I thought that Vienna could be so good. But Vienna is wonderful too, in a very different way. What's similar is an ordered city centre with beautiful buildings and royal palaces. There's also the famous Spanish Riding School. We didn't have the chance to view that as you had to book and we had only 3 days for everything in Vienna. However, we did visit the adjoining palace and other beautiful buildings.Yet more of these anyone can see on TV - in the ballet sequences that are performed for the famous New Year's Day Concert with the Vienna Phil in the beautiful Golden Hall.The old city wall was taken down and is now a ring road but very different to the frenetic near-motorway that's the Peripherique round Paris. The Vienna ring road is just a road, wide in parts. Other fascinating places are of course the museums and the churches and the unusual St Stephen's Cathedral. Close to the ring road is the beautiful Mozart theatre - tours take place inside the theatre. From there we took two bus trips, one for a boat trip on the Danube and the other to the edge of the Vienna Woods.We stayed outside the centre in a pension that was once a convent and our bedroom was plain and simple but very large with a large vestibule. Nearby is the beautiful Schonbrun royal palace with extensive formal gardens and a little zoo, also a huge folly facing the back of the house below which they have summer concerts.Visiting the royal palaces and seeing the generalI value all my Eyewitness Guides - and Insight Guides too. I always buy whichever of these is available for places we visit, they are simply invaluable, and also I buy them for places I hope to visit someday, or even just because I'm interested even if I never expect to get there. Compact but detailed, splendid maps, drawings, photographs, history, where to stay, restaurants, you name it, and a very good index. I wouldn't go on any holiday, not even in Britain, without my Eyewitness or Insight Guide (or both).

The first thing I buy when I decide on where I am going to visit next is a DK Eyewitness Travel Guide. So far I have purchased and visited guides about Paris, London, Rome and Vienna (I can't decide where to go next!). The best part of the books are the brief history about the city which makes the sights so much more meaningful and memorable. The maps, suggested itineraries, attraction prices and cultural information has proven invaluable on my trips. I highly recommend purchasing a DK Eyewitness Travel Guide once you decide where you want to visit! :-)

DK is absolutely the best travel guide available.Reading it before your trip will make every site you visit feel like meeting an old friend.Rereading it on your return will prompt more memories than any photo you might chance to take or postcard you'll drop a euro on.Buy it secondhand if money is an issue.Give it to a friend who plans a similar journey; it will be viewed as a very thoughtful gift. But consider the gift a generous one and make sure you really like that friend.

Love the pictures and the layouts of the museums. Very happy with the way the book is layed out by area. Liked the suggestions for 1,2 3 or longer trips to Vienna. Very complete and lots to learn here.

I loved the combination of visuals and text, and found my visit to Vienna (Dec. 2012)enriched by the details I picked up about Viennese history, culture, and architecturebefore my trip. I used the Internet to check on details about opening times and so on,and found the maps superior to any I picked up locally. I was able to locate a museumwhich focused on my particular interest in folk art (which the Road Scholar leader did not knowabout) and spent my free afternoon there quite happily. Thanks to the star rating it got, I knew that although obscure it would be worth my time. I will hang onto the book as a souvenir and toreview before my next trip.

This is an acceptable book to read at home with lots of photos and illustrations. However, this is not a useful book for the road. It's heavy (for its size) and difficult to flip through. The maps are not easy to read and there are very limited practical information such as schedules, prices and transportation information. The writing is also extremely boring and uninspired. Am I suppose to be reading this while having afternoon tea??? Travel is suppose to be fun! I guess once a Rick Steve fan, always a Rick Steve fan. This is just not my type of travel book.

Travel guides have an impossible job, they have to tell tourists where the best places to go are and enough about those places to make things interesting and understandable. This travel guide does all that with a visual spin, so if you know you're primarily visual person, this is EXACTLY the kind of guide you need for your trip!

I just love the artwork on this deck. It is in the Japanese Anime-Manga style (like a cartoon or comic book style) and is 100% overflowing with cuteness. This deck does use pips for the 2 to 10 numbers of the minor arcana. That seems to be standard practice for Manga artwork tarot decks, so I it doesn't disappoint me.Physically, the cards are larger than I expected. They measure ~5" x 3.25" which is a bit larger than normal size. The book that comes with the deck is well done. Over 60 pages with bios of the artist, Saori Takarai, and Psychic Jada who worked with the artist. The book includes interpretations for the cards and a number of spreads to use. It even provides suggestions for making your own spreads.It says that Ms. Takarai has drawn "Manga Moods" and "Manga Sisters". I love her drawings for "The Fool" and "The Magician". They combine the tarot and manga very well. These cards use much of the standard tarot card symbolism on the majors, aces and face cards. That is a nice bonus if you want to read with them.I have not read with this deck. I mainly bought it for the Manga artwork. I don't see the minor cards missing meaningful artwork as a big problem if you wanted to use the deck for readings. It is a fun deck that will not be offensive to anyone. The cartoon characters are fun to look at and also have tarot meaning behind them. While not everyone is going to like this deck, and it might be too cute for many people, I am glad to have this Manga tarot deck in my collection.My box cover looked different. See my photo.

This is an amazing deck. It seems larger than other decks, but it uses cherubic characters that are as delightful as they are insightful. I took to this deck right away! It comes in an attractive box, with an explanatory booklet, including several sample spreads. I am a tarot reader, but also a collector. If you collect decks, this is a fun one to have. When you read, it is helpful to use different decks. Some readers even use more than one deck when reading. Decks do have their respective characters. This is a really cool deck.

I bought this out of curiosity since I knew a little about tarots and wanted to try it out. The guidebook is pretty helpful and it's not so bad starting out, but you'll probably have to refer back to it when you're reading fortunes like me if you're a newbie.I had some friends come over and they were curious and wanted me to read their fortunes... scarily enough it predicted an event for all of us on Wednesday and sure enough, we found out a party was on Wednesday. Haha maybe there is a bit of truth to these.I do like these cards but they are kind of big and it makes it a little difficult to shuffle. Also, the lack meanings for upside-down draws and what not is a bit of a downer. Still it's great fun to have friends over and read their fortunes.

This was bought for our daughter, and she loves them. The images are very cute and well drawn! The cards are also very sturdy.

Ok. So I bought this deck because I thought i would like it more than my old one. Part of Tarot is connecting witht the deck you use. I also thought it would be a more Unisex deck. Not really. The back is shades of pink and the pictures are real shojo. I'd recommend these cards for girls anday of the week but not so much for us guys. The quality of the cards and the guidebook and cards are outstading though. So, I will try to get past the fault and make these cards my own.

Good buy in my opinion. The cards are cute and big and are perfect for me. They are big cards and are really durable too.

This is one of the cutest manga tarots I've seen so far. The box is nice and sturdy and includes an inset area for the cards. Much better than the flimsy little boxes that just open on the top. The box does not look like the picture in this listing though. I'll post a picture of it. The book is cute and helpful even though it's a little short. Gives the info you need though, and that's what matters. All of the Major Arcana are beautifully illustrated, and the ace and court cards are also illustrated, but the numbered suits are just pips. I shouldn't be surprised since apparently this is common in Asian tarot decks. Still a slight disappointment. If you like to read reversals then you may be unhappy with the backs of the cards, they are not reversible. I don't read reversals though so it doesn't bother me. All in all, I love this deck so much.

I cannot resist a new Green Ember book, and while we are waiting for a continuation of the main series, S. D. Smith has provided an appetizer in the form of a sequel to the prequel. Of The Black Star of Kingston, the first Natalia story, I wrote, "It's a distant-past prequel to The Green Ember, and definitely enjoyable to read in its own right. It's not quite as satisfying, mainly because it's much shorter, but also because the strong female characters are mostly missing. Perhaps even rabbit civilizations need to develop over time."Much the same could be said about The Wreck and Rise of Whitson Mariner. As an appetizer, it is small, and lacks the depth and nuance of a full meal. It's also primarily about battles, the kind that tend to appeal more to a young, male audience. While reading, I couldn't help seeing a juvenile version of the car chases and gun battles in NCIS: Los Angeles. Or, if you prefer a more classical analogy, the battle descriptions in The Iliad. That aside, it's a fun story, and not lacking in the examples of courage, love, and sacrifice I've come to expect from S. D. Smith. Plus, even though the men get most of the action, the women get some exciting parts, too, and come out better than in the previous story—if not as well as in the later Green Ember books.

Another excellent installment with all the hallmarks we've come to know & love from this author -- lots of excitement, characters you can't help but care about & a plethora of positive themes. Plus some new villains this time around. So far this is my favorite SD Smith novel outside of the Green Ember series. Definitely recommend!

Our family has absolutely loved these books. After listening to them on audiobook my kids picked the physical books up and reread them. Kept our whole family (even mom and dad) was engaged throughout the whole book. Can’t wait till the next whole story comes out.

My daughter has been keeping up with the Ember series. She tends to be a bit picky in reading material, but has loved this series, and completely devoured this book when it came out. Glad the author is willing to put out these side stories as we wait for the next installment in the overall series.

My name is Toby and my mom lets me write this. Im 8 and i got The Wreck and Rise of Whitson Mariner in my stocking for Christmas. I was excited when i got it because i LOVE the other Green Ember books so i knew id like this one. I was right! I read it all in 3 days because it was full of adventure and danger and heroes and i loved it. I hope a lot of people get this book and love it too. I think its good for kids because it makes their imagination real.

Though this is considered a book for youth I am enjoying it along with my grandchildren. The action-packed story with its twists and turns of the plot kept my attention throughout. It is well worth a five rating.

I read this book aloud to my oldest four kids (ages 4-10) over some sub-zero winter days. We could not stop! Thank you for such a wonderful story we could share together, S.D. Smith.

We pre-ordered our copy. I won't spoil it but we love how the characters are developed. If you have reluctant readers and need a exciting series, you will want to add this to your library.

*** 4.5 stars ***What can I possibly say other than this was a great conclusion to a fabulous series!!! As I said before I was hooked on this series from the very beginning!!! I love everyone in this family and the little town that forms the backdrop!!! All of the characters are wonderful even the supporting ones. They all played a vital role in this series. This series is packed with action despite that all the books were novellas. And this final book was no exception!!! It is the continuation of the previous book however it is so different. It starts off with a bang and the mystery continues. More questions arise and thankfully we get answers. If I had a complaint it would be that the end seemed a little rushed. Especially when the author gives you the run down of the why’s and answers at the end. I feel like there should have been a bit more in depth. I know it is a novella however I don’t think a few more pages would have hurt. Other than that this novella was great!!! I know the authors said that this book is the final book in this series but as I stated before it leaves things open for more possibilities!!! I hope this isn’t the end. I am attached to all of the characters and would like to see more of them. However if this book concluded the series than I must say it was more than a fabulous way to go out!!! Thank you Kendra and Melinda for an awesome series!!! You once again delivered — but that isn’t a surprise!!! I highly recommend the Rouge series!!! It is more than worth it!!!PS— don’t let this be the end—

Another winner from duo Melinda Leigh and Kendra Elliot!Conclusion to Rogue Justice Novellas, Truth be Told was told from Stevie and Zane Duncan. For long time readers like me, yes, they’ve married, and now we got glimpses of their marital life. Chief of Police and his deputy in a small town of Solitude.The story picked up right after the end of Twisted Truth. It started with a bang, figuratively. While the police force of Solitude tried to put together pieces of clues, I actually had managed to put two and two together, and correctly guessed the culprit(s). However, the story of them got to the conclusion was very intriguing, and I just couldn’t put the book down. It was that good. There was development so shocking that threw me out at the beginning, and twists and turns along the way.Along with the mystery and suspense that I loved so, the solid romance between Zane and Stevie, and the solid family value of the Taylor clan were the other things that kept me coming back for more of these extraordinary novellas. These novellas were the best ones.I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher through NetGalley, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.

Kidnapped Liam was again kidnapped and held for ransom by his Uncle Marcus to avenge his sister's murder by Terry and Shawn. Wade revealed the defective product and set up Terry to take the fall for the missing ten million. Dawn and her mole wanted the information from Wade to bankrupt Knights Production. Between the rising Rouge River, the washed out bridges, the murdered FBI agents, and more shooting and deaths that could last a life time, the two sisters, Stevie and Carly, announced their pregnancies. Bill is smiling and watching over his family!Art mimicking fiction, and I could not put down this novella... Sweet!!03/31/19.

Part 2 of this storyline focuses on newlyweds Stevie and Zane. He is the Police Chief in Solitude, Oregon, and Stevie is one of his deputies. A storm continues to rage as they find 2 federal agents shot to death, and a small boy and his uncle missing. There are strangers in town who seem to be connected, and strangers in town who have disappeared.The rain seems to be a living thing as the police try to find the missing and deal with the dead. A too quick read that solves a who-done-it from Book 1.

This is the 2nd novella in the Rogue Justice series. It could be read alone but I would suggest reading both in order. The town of Solitude is cut off from the outside world by flooding. There is a missing boy and 2 dead FBI agents. The killer or killers are also trapped by the flooding. The local police can’t call for help and it is a race against time to find the missing boy, hopefully alive.This is a great mystery book that will hold your interest from beginning to end. Kendra has become a must read for me since her first book and she delivers on this one. This is a great 2 book series that I would recommend to readers. Thank you to Montlake and net galley for an advanced readers copy.

This book read quickly and kept the excitement flowing til the last page! It seems that this author likes to put the main characters in the action after the action has started and then unfolds the situation. It was challenging to keep track of the long line up of characters. This book seems to be a continuation in #1 and although it is independent I believe it would be a better reading experience if you read them in sequence. I won the kindle vision of this book from Goodreads and wanted to share my review. Thank you to the author, publisher and Goodreads.

It is good to see the romantic story line is between a husband and wife, and not just boyfriend and girl friend. This story has Zane and Stevie Duncan looking for murderers, and some one who was in the FBI's protective custody gone missing. The only way out of town has been washed out, so the missing person and murder is still in Solitude. It maybe a small town, but there are plenty of places to hide. Can Zane and Stevie find the murderer before more bodies are found? Read this short story to find out.

I have enjoyed every word in each of the co-written Rogue series. I never get tired of reading about the small town of Solitude and those whose work keeps it safe, the Taylor family. Very engaging story lines, compelling events, genuine characters, well written and entertaining, too! I will return time and time again!

About the Author

After paying his dues working in a variety of dusty auto parts stores, and then earning a journalism degree from Southwest Texas State University, Steve Statham's career in automotive journalism started with a stint as managing editor at Super Ford magazine. He later served as the editor of Musclecar Enthusiast magazine for many years. Along the way, he has authored and photographed 12 books on automotive history and contributed articles to dozens of automotive publications. Steve also writes fiction, and his new novel is Rules of Force, a sci-fi thriller. When not writing or editing, Statham tries to find time to take his wife and daughter out cruisin' in his 1968 GTO.
